Tioman vs Redang: which East Coast island is right for your trip?

The northern sites can have strong currents — comfortable AOW or higher. Getting there: bus or drive from KL to Mersing, then 2-hour ferry. Total transit time about 6 hours from KL. ## Redang in detail Redang is more boutique — most operators package dives into a 3D2N or 4D3N stay-at-resort deal. Sites are calmer, vis is reliably 15-25m, and shore diving is easy off most resort beaches. Getting there: drive or fly to Kuala Terengganu, then 30-min boat. About 7-8 hours from KL total.
